Many patients are asking themselves the famous question, do I need plastic surgery? Or Do I need this specific surgery? In fact, the question carries a lot of other aspects underneath.

Plastic surgery is a very big domain that can change your life to a much better quality one. If you feel you might need plastic surgery to feel better about yourself, then that’s legit. Plastic surgery can improve many aspects, psychologically, our self-esteem can get higher, we can look better after it, and on many occasions, we FUNCTION better! For example, a nose trauma might affect his/her nose look in the future(aesthetic). Moreover, it may affect how the kid may get breath (function). Unfortunately, undergoing plastic surgery to correct aesthetic look, function, or both is sometimes stigmatized as not being “Natural” or “artificial.” This natural paradigm is slowly changing to be more inclusive. Yet, in some communities, “artificial results” aren’t well accepted. This makes many patients “hide” the fact that they had plastic surgery when friends ask. Yes, The artificial stigma.
Back to our question, if you want to have plastic surgery to look better, function better, or both, then you probably need one. Yet, it doesn’t mean you are qualified for one; many other conditions might need to be fulfilled first for your safety.
